I think we should have renamed this shoot to the "Duck Shoot" ! Saturday morning dawned wet and raining and it didnt get much better. The rains really got to it Friday and pretty much continued on through most of Friday and Saturday. We had some shooters who had an optimistic outlook however and since we were there to shoot, shoot we did. Everyone put on their wet suits and went out to bust some clays. The course for both events was very well laid out, there were a few presentations that due to the wind, the birds were a little tough to see, well that and the rain drops on everything, especially the glasses, but they were there if you could look between the drops!

The afternoon event was pretty much a repeat of the morning event, wet. The course was changed up, and the shooters went out again and braved the elements. Maybe the rain was not quite so bad, or most of the shooters got the hang of shooting between the drops, as most shooters picked up a few birds.

Both courses were a nice mix of birds, fun birds with no really nasty ones, just a good mix and they all required you to keep on the gun and focus on the birds. I think everyone really enjoyed the presentations.

Thank You to Tony Henman, Kim Henderson, Bo Bohannon and Dave Bonebrake for all your hard work and help in another successful shoot.

The next shoot, July 10th, will be the final NSCA shoot of the season, surely it will be drier wont it?!!!

Hope to see you there.

Robert Meyer
